# a romantic and timeless getaway in Camargue @ Le mas de la Fouque..

Welcome to paradise …

During our last blogtrip in Provence, we made a stopover in Camargue, a region that I had the opportunity to discover when i was a little girl, and which for me, is reminiscent of wildlife, nature, pink flamingos and birds everywhere, wild bulls free to come and go as they choose in the vast open plains, but also of sun, swimming in the Mediterranean sea, ridding the white Camargue horses on the beach , and of course last but by no means least the mosquitoes 😉

In short the Carmargue is nature in its purest form, just as we like it… I have so many beautiful memories of this place which I could not wait to return to!! And for this stay, I wanted an authentic place to stay, specifically somewhere situated in the middle of nowhere, to take full advantage of the local flora and fauna.. And I was not disappointed; I fell instantly in love with this place where we stayed, and which I will be telling you all about today…

Le mas de la Fouque, a magical place in an authentic and sublime setting..

When we arrived at “the mas”, we were greeted by Marius the parrot and the mascot of the hotel. He instantly set the mood by soaring onto our shoulders and quickly made us feel right at home in this cosy place that at the same time was so authentic, simple and pleasant. Exactly for what I was looking for.

I must say that dearest Marius absolutely loved Peters camera, and as soon as he saw it, he only wanted one thing, to inspect this strange metal object, search our bags to see if he could find it..Ah little Marius, he certainly kept us entertained ….

The rooms ..

I absolutely loved our cosy cocoon, full of charm where we felt so good. Our room was bright, minimalist and spacious with a big big bathtub, and a small flowery and cute patio. All of this was situated just next to the swimming pool! Perfect for a romantic weekend! Ah and something for the girls: the products in the bathroom were all by Nuxe as well as the hotel spa. Nuxe addicts like myself will be absolutely thrilled!

(There are several different types of room and each one is decorated differently..we can even sleep in traditional trailers for a much more authentic and cosy night… there is something for all tastes and preferences.)

By the pool ..

The nature is protected and animals are respected and loved at the mas de la Fouque, so all pets are welcome as long as they are well behaved and respect the other animals present at the hotel.. Ducks, swans, parrot (Marius) and cats circulate freely in the hotel, which is what gives it this sort of unique and crazy charm… Actually the hotel cat adopted us during the weekend, and spent the entire time purring contentedly on our bed.

The ducks also came to join us for a swim and never forgot to come asking for bread, I simply couldn’t refuse them, they were just so cute ..

What to see & do ..

The schedule for our trip: rest, breakfast in nature, horse-riding (an absolute must in Carmargue) Nuxe spa, Jacuzzi and indoor pool, discovering the beaches in Carmargue.. In short everything you could wish for…

And for those who want to explore the surroundings, the mas is situated at the edge of the regional Natural reserve of the Camargue .. It is surrounded with nature and at the same time, is only a few km from the attractive city of Arles, where we can go by foot on dirt tracks from the hotel. Fouque also organize excursions with its partners, such as visiting the bulls breeding, horseback rides, sea trips, yoga.. there is definitely lots to do..

Last words..

Last precision, we had dinner at the restaurant of the Fouque .. an absolute delight from starter to desert, and such a treat (slight drawback: the budget ..it is most certainly not free, but the produce is excellent quality, and it really is worth it it)

And to conclude, I absolutely love this place with a capital L!!!! Different, peaceful, immersed in nature, soothing .. I am quickly running out of adjectives that do it justice, but sincerely, I had a real crush for this magical place that I will be returning to as soon as possible .. And for animal and nature lovers, I recommend it even more!! The same goes for the Camargue, which is really a beautiful place to be discovered with your love or family, young and old will be won over entirely
