Thanks goodness for Tipiak ..
Last spring, Tipiak launch a new cereal mix (“cereals de campagne “) that is really rather nice, and I wanted to share it with you as I personally think it is very good. I took the time to try it out, and I found that we can prepare a range of recipes with it. For people like me who don’t eat pasta, it is a good alternative to quinoa or bulgur for example.. And the advantage is that it suits all the family. Moms who wish to cook something other than pasta for their kids or their husbands, will absolutely love it (ps: for those who do not know the brand Tipiak, it is the ad with the 3 old women from Brittany dressed in their traditional clothes, that say ” pirate! “)..
Made from rice, wheat and buckwheat, this colorful, filling mixture with its tender texture is also easier to prepare than pasta, and is really practical in the evening, when we are missing inspiration, or we don’t really know what to cook to fill the young and old in the family.. And even if this mixture can taste delicious both hot and cold with a little knob of butter or olive oil, we can also cook and prepare richer and more complex dishes like risotto, mixed salad, tabbouleh etc… In fact during the launch of this new mixture, we had the opportunity to taste an absolutely fabulous risotto prepared with this product .. It was just too good .. And that was not all either, because during this delicious lunch, Tipiak showed us several different dishes made with some Tipiak cereals, and for me who did not know all of their products, I absolutely loved it 😉
L’Arpège 3* restaurant features Tipiak and this is so good !
Last April, we were invited to the famous restaurant, l’Arpege to taste the latest Tipiak novelty “cereals de campagne “” , but also to (re)discover some of their other products .. The special Tipiak menu realized by chef Alain Passard, the leader of l’Arpege himself, was absolutely divine.. All the lunch, from beginning to end was simply delicious, and especially very delicate and refined .. I had never tasted for example the dish made from “Japanese pearls” and I was really very surprised by the result: we were treated to a salty version cooked with pearls : a hot broth in pearls of Japan.. absoloutly delicious. And for the sweet version, it was a custard tart made with Japanese pearls and lemon. Surprising but divine.. Concerning the famous new mixture with rice, wheat and buckwheat, we tasted the cold tabbouleh version, and risotto for the hot version.. there also it was simply perfect… And can I also add that the beetroot sushi with tender Tipiak pearls.. mouthwatering and so original…
I realise now that I could not even have begun to think about cooking dishes like this from cereals that I usually put into the category, quick , practical and last-minute meals..But I had it all wrong. Who would have thought it, that using simple products we can really cook something so delicious..In short a huge surprise taste wise, and specifically 10 out of 10 for the Tipiak products that can be used for family meals, or in a more gourmet setting, depending on the mood and time that we have in the kitchen.
Test asap!!
