Which one is the best ?
Concerning the choice of brands, there are so many that it is difficult to choose from, especially as we must be picky concerning the quality of the juice which we are going to drink.. Forget about industrial, pasteurized juice that is too sweet or has been watered down.. Real juice does not keep for more than a few days maximum .. they must be organic, home-made, freshly pressed, with seasonal fruit and vegetables, no added sugar, and specifically contain enough vitamins and minerals .. in short they have to be the best of the best .. And as juice fasting is a bit easier if you’re not alone, my cheri and I decided to test and try out numerous brands, formulas and packages of juice cleanses.. and here are our favourites 😉
#Nu bio : Paris & France
- I tested Cure Intense (100% green) / Peter tested Cure Energie (juice + paléo bars)
- We liked .. The Juices.. excellent, freshly pressed, daily and you can actually tell too!!! Green juices are rather hard to swallow normally but not Nubio’s .. The recipes and flavors are clearly researched and thought out, and are very good, which makes it so much easy to drink!! All our juices were delicious, and very different. Peter particularly liked Nubio and the paléo bars in his detox.. he appreciated these small snack bars which make the detox a little bit more playful and less draining than the others (especially if we are into sports) The packaging is also very sophisticated, the information is registered on the bottles, traceabilities of products are clear, and all the details concerning the detox are also well explained, everything is transparent and thorough.. Nubio is definitely one of the higher quality brands, and that definitely shows in it’s products.
- We liked less : plastic packaging!! Coming from a high-class brand that is so accomplished, I expected glass bottles.. And I also did not like vegetal milk that tasted too strongly of almond.. I was looking forward to my milk at the end of each day of the detox (it is a little reward almost because it’s more substantial) and this was a little bit of a disappointment for me because I found it way too light. Another drawback is the price of the snack bars and other treats, but which is totally justified by the quality of these high-end products.. We almost need to think of it as a gift that we allow our bodies from time to time 😉
- The little extra ++ : At Nubio everything is healthy, organic and home-made… the juices, and soups, but also the snack and vegan cereal paleo bars, mixtures of superfood to mix into your smoothies, muesli, raw chocolate, herbal teas, etc… Full of sweetness and tastes that we want to savour and enjoy because they are simply so good. To sum up, Nubio is one of our favourites.
- Delivery : all over France, or we can collect our detox cures at any of the boutiques and showrooms.
- Price : 64 euros a day
#By jardins / France / Corsica / Europe / England
- We both tested the soft cleanse “ la cure Tendre” which is a perfect and rather easy way to start your first ever detox because the juices are quite sweet… Beginners will appreciate them while purists and regular detox customers will prefer other fast with more vegetables and fewer fruits, much more green and less sweet.
- We liked : everything… the juices are very very good and are easy to drink, there is no particular order or numbers on the bottles contrary to other cures, so we can choose whatever we want.. We really loved all the juices (even the beetroot!!) and both of us felt satisfied, with hardly any sensations of hunger.. By jardin is a small family company which proposes delicious 100% organic juice, with vegetables, fruits and aromatic herbs, raw and cultivated in their kitchen gardens or by French organic farmers .. The menu : there are between 7 and 10 recipes of different juices which evolve according to the seasons.. (Cold-pressed of course, non-pasteurized, without conservatives, nor coloring agents, nor any additives of any kind and all that).. At By jardin we are in the top of the range juices, with beautiful recyclable glass bottles. No excess of flourishes or packaging, just the essentials….
- We liked less : As with the brand Bojus, I simply love glass packaging, but it makes the detox bottles less easily transportable (yes 6 bottles of 500ml in your handbag starts to get a little heavy) so either we do our detox at home, or we get the products delivered directly to work 😉 ah and there are several juices that double up on a detox day, which can be a little bit boring for a long-lasting cleanse.
- The little extra ++: the tastes and the quality of juices, and the glass bottles because even if they weigh heavier and even if it is less practical than the lastic, the glass is a case for juice, more qualitative than plastic besides being recyclable and avoiding any chemical contact… So this is a big plus!!!
- Delivery : Paris and around by special courier/France/Corsica, Europe and England by Chronofresh.
- Price : 60 euros per day/per detox.
#Bojus Paris
- I tested “Une belle journée / Peter tested “Energie” ..
- We liked : the freshness and tastes of the juices which are excellent.. we can really tell that they are home-made!! And moreover when we collect them from the shop, we can see the staff actually preparing the juices 😉
- We liked less : the morning herbal juice shot.. mine was black radish.. very very hard to take first thing.. And also their is no vegetal milk or more substantial milk for the end of the day.. kind of missed it..
- The little extra ++: .. The quality and the freshness of the 100% organic french products, the taste of the juices, and the eco glass high-end packaging .. Concerning glass bottles, OK I must reiterate it is much less practical to transport than plastic (I had 2 glass bottles with my morning juices in my handbag, not perfect when you have to move around quickly around Paris city centre..) but it is more ecological all the same. I recommend to do this cure at home or to get your juices delivered to the workplace 😉
- Delivery to Paris and close suburbs/ or collect the cure directly at the workshop.
- Price: roughly 65 euros a day depending on the fast.
#Juice lab Paris / Nice
- I tested Cure Deep / Peter tested Detox Light..
- We liked : I had a real crush for Juice Lab 😉 the juices are very good, varied, delicate tastes.. we can drink them very easily , and I adore the original names of each juice.. (Wake me up, Yes mom, The dream team, etc.)..Value for money, Juice lab wins, especially for a long-lasting cure with a smaller budget.
- We liked less : the plastic packaging, and I had some difficulties with 1 or 2 green juices (Mr Norwalk for example made with celery, carrot, fennel which I found a little bit stiff but that’s just me;-).. Ah and at the moment there are only 2 juice cleanses and 1 clean out “slimming” cure (what is already not bad I can hear you say) but the good news is that Juice Lab has reserved some new novelties to come at the beginning of 2017, new cleanses, juices, shop openings… so keep an eye out on this brand <3
- The little extra ++: The vegetal milk is absolutely delicious.. I would have been able to drink another 2 or 3 bottles of mine which had almost a taste of Punch, without the alcohol of course = > The “full packag e” made with dates, ginger, hot peppers, banana and many other extraordinary things etc. .. I was only allowed 1 a day, it’s a pity 😉 And we also loved the small shop Juice lab has just opened in Saint German des pres.. That is where we collected our juice cleanses and we felt so welcome in this adorable boutique, where it is perfect to have a healthy break and taste fresh juices of course but also smoothies, vegetarian snack bars or good home-made soup (the soups are delicious, even Peter loved them!!! )
- Delivery : Paris and paris regions/ or we can collect our order in the shops in Paris and Cannes.
- Price: 49,50 euros per day (apart from the green detox which is only 30 euros)
#Detox delight Paris & France /Belgique / Luxembourg
- I tested the Juice delight cleanse / Peter tested the Active delight for sportsmen & girls.
- We liked: the Juices, the wide choice of cleanses, the size and format of the bottles that are ultra practical to transport, and the last juice of the day which is in fact a richer vegetal milk that seems an eternity to wait for 😉 The milk is absolutely delicious. I would have gladly had an extra one 😉
- We liked less : again the plastic packaging.. And certain juices were more difficult to drink than others, (the beetroot or carrot for me and chlorophyll for Peter) but altogether they were very good..
- The little extra ++ : Detox Delight offers a multitude of cleanses and healthy snack bars that are ultra tasty and vegetarian (You absolutely must try out the spring rolls). There is something for everyone among this wide range of healthy products. They also offer soup cleanses or half soup and half juice fasts which are excellent for the winter season..
- Delivery all over France / Belgium / Luxembourg/ or pick up your order in the shop in Paris or at the Juice bars at Club med gym Saint lazare
- Price: between 45 and 60 euros a day depending on the juice cleanse
To sum up :
How long ? We tested these cleanses over different durations, between 1 day, 2 days, 3 days, 5 and 7 days to see the various sensations and effects.. We both felt fine, and we were able to continue to be active and to live normally (sport, work etc.) except the first 2 days of the very first cure where we really had to rest and relax especially Peter who had never done a real detox before.. But after all these juice fast, we felt good both physically and mentally, we also lost a little weight that we needed to, and everything is fine 😉
1 day is good for maintenance or in preparation for a longer cleanse, or for a low-budget..
2/3 days the effects begin on the body, complexion, weight.. It is important to understand that the first 2 days can be difficult, especially if it is your first detox, right Peter?;-) (sensations of hunger and unpleasant symptoms as the body purges itself, headaches, dizziness, mood swings), On the 3rd day we feel already better, the sensation of hunger is less present (even if the need to chew and bite something was omnipresent for me on all the durations).. Once this stage passes, we are more calm and ready to continue juicing for a few more days..
5/7 days for regular customers or if you are really motivated. It finally becomes less hard than 2/3 days because once we get past day 3, we really experience the beneficial effects of the detox. The body is light and the famous renewed energy is very present..to try at least once maybe….
Concerning the prices, to do a juice cure properly is expensive especially for a long period of time, but it is necessary to look at it like a gift for our bodies, a treatment, a beneficial present that they deserve and that we will definately not regret in the long run. I found of course and tested less expensive or as expensive juice brands as these mentioned in my blog, but they were simply not as good, less qualitative, not organic or more diluted which is why I have not mentioned them in my ranking… If we cannot afford it them its better to do just a juicing day but choose the best possible brands and products, or to try to prepare it yourself using seasonal fresh fruit and vegetables and organic aromatic herbs.)
Conclusion : In every case, as I explained in the previous article special juicing, it is important to respect your body rhythm, and to follow a 3-day cleanse diet plan for before and after the juicing. =>no more alcohol, meat, fish, milk, animal products 2 days minimum prior and after juice fasting). To increase the benefits of a juice cleanse and to help the body detoxing in and out, do not hesitate to give yourself a draining or lymphatic massage at Chantal Bréhin or elsewhere), a good steam room session and even better, a colonic 😉 So there you go, choose the cure which appeals to you, and which corresponds best to your needs, your budget and your desires of the moment;) I chose to alternate between all of these 😉 Do not hesitate to leave a comment if you have any questions or anything else <3
