Which cleansers & make up removers to choose ?
When it comes to skin cleansing routine , we all have our preferences, depending on what we are used to, our skin type & our preferences regarding textures and smells . The thing is, there are so many products on the market, it can be a bit hard to pick the One !! So I’ve made you all a little selection of some of my and Peter’s favorite products, which are all great. Of course, we don’t use them all at the same time – we switch between them (especially me). I like to change it up depending on my mood, which also allows me to try out new launches.
Cleansers ..
Superfood cleanser by Youth to the people … This is one of Peter’s favourites. He uses it all the time. It’s good for greasy, normal and combination skin types. It cleanses the skin effectively, gets rid of impurities right down to the pores and balances the skin’s pH. You can also use it after removing your makeup to cleanse the skin properly. It’s a bit too strong for my skin, which is combination but sensitive, so I don’t use it much. Shop here …

Juliet / Skin Brightening cleanser by Antipodes.. As you know, I am an unconditional fan of this brand … I love almost all of their skincare products and I did quite a few blog post about it. The Juliet cleanser has been a part of my routine for years !! I truly love it ! It leaves the skin clean and soft without drying it out and it regulates the production of sebum. This antioxidant-packed gel suits all skin types, but it is particularly effective for combination to greasy skin. I normally use it at night after taking off my makeup, to finish cleansing my skin properly. Shop this product here .
Detox cleansing foam by Pattyka .. My partner and I discovered this brand recently and we love their organic, vegan and made in France skincare products, which are all made up of clean ingredients. The foam smells really good and it cleanses the face gently. It’s perfect for all skin types, even the most sensitive. Shop the product here .

Cleansing Oils ..
The grape and almond make-up removing cleansing oil by Caudalie .. A must-have product. I always have a travel-sized version of this in my suitcase as it’s one of my favorites. It removes all kinds of makeup, even waterproof mascara. Non-oily and light, it doesn’t leave the skin greasy after application (although personally, I always need to use a cleansing mist or foam after using a makeup-removing oil anyway). Shop it here
The melting cleansing oil by Patyka .. My summer crush with jojoba oil .. the smell is amazing ! As I told you before, Patyka has excellent & super clean products. This one can be applied like a normal makeup remover, with a cotton wool pad or with circular motions on your face, then you add a bit of luke-warm water to form a foam before rinsing. Shop it here

Rose Moringa by Mawena .. When removing your makeup becomes a true beauty ritual .. For those of you who have a taste for precious skincare, this oh-so-chic makeup removing elixir is made for you. It purifies the pores and improves the texture of the skin, all while nourishing it thanks to its vitamin E and omega 3 ingredients. The scent of this oil is so delicate, I’m crazy about it ! Suitable for every skin type and especially the dry and sensitive ones, it can also be applied with a cotton wool pad or by adding a little water and working into a mousse after applying it to the face – the choice is yours! Organic natural oil .. simple & effective for those that want to go back to basics. You must absolutely choose an 100% organic, high-quality oil. I love coconut oil, but do be careful as it can be a little comedogenic on certain skin.
- Normal to greasy skin : jojoba , apricot, olive, ricin..
- Dry, sensitive & reactive skin: sweet almond, avocado, coconut
- Mature skin: argan
Cleansing waters ..
For those who don’t like foam or oils, there is always cleansing water, though personally I use these more as the second step of my routine, to finish cleansing the skin. I find that these waters don’t remove my makeup well enough (like waterproof mascara or foundation ) . As for micellar waters, I ‘ve stopped using these as they can be very drying for sensitive skin and the most delicate areas of the face, without removing mascara properly for example. Despite what you might think, micellar waters are not gentle and can actually have a “detergent” effect on the skin, so I tend to opt for oil-based makeup removers.

The makeup removing water by Mademoiselle Saint Germain .. This is one of the only ones I use, a Bourbon géranium water that I apply with a cotton pad, and which cleanses extremely gently. This is a natural and eco-responsible brand which is made in France, and more accurately made in the King’s Vegetable Garden of chateau de Versailles – So chic ! So I use this one in the morning to cleanse my skin, and at night, either on its own if I’m not wearing makeup, or as the 2nd part of my routine when I am. In any case I love it and it smells amazing. Shop it here
So that’s it for my favorites of the moment ! Wish you a wonderful day !
