The tint :
The tinted mousse By Terry with hyaluronic acid is top notch. It illuminates the face with a natural glow, smooths lines, corrects imperfections, and all this without even looking like you are wearing any make-up at all. I am a huge fan ! => I love applying it with my new “toy” the beauty blender =>This cute little sponge is just perfect for applying foundation to all areas of the face. Remember to wash it well after every use to ensure that it lasts. I of course chose the bright pink one, but it comes in lots of other cool colors..
For bronzing powder, I always use « Terracotta by Guerlain .. It is invaluable for making my skin shine and giving me a healthy glow, adding color to my cheeks all year round … Also this year, the packaging the powders come in has been restyled. There is a silicone case, which you can remove if you so choose. Super soft, it comes in two different colors: green for blondes and coral for brunettes. This makes me love it even more. 😉 =>Be sure to use the Guerlain bronzer sparingly, and with light brush stokes around the face. Draw a number 3 that begins with the forehead to the hair line, finishing with the temples and cheekbones.
Don’t overlook the importance of blusher …. The Diorskin Nude Tan from the « Tie and Dye » collection is perfect for September, with a sun kissed, natural and fresh look especially for brunettes;-) . I use number 2: coral sunset whereas those with fairer complexions will probably prefer number 1 : pink sunrise.=>For a healthy glow, apply simply to the cheekbones, using the pretty brush « Kabuki » that comes with the Dior box.
For a matte, anti-shine powder or for shine-control touch-up throughout the day, I love Chanel ’s loose powder in number 30 (natural),which I apply using a brush to the t- zone, then I’m good to go.=>You can also use the powder-puff that comes with the product itself, but I prefer using a traditional brush, which I find a lot lighter.
A quick mascara touch up, ..
For mascara , my favorite is obviously one that elongates and thickens the lashes , but in a natural way, separatingthe lashes for a more un-made-up look. I always buy black, and waterproof for a longer wear ,( so that I can cry with sadness or laughter and still look perfect) . Shu Emura is a miracle worker and elongates the lashes (it’s crazy) and the Diorshow iconic separates the lashes unobtrusively. It’s slightly thicker than Shu Uemura, so depending on the desired outcome, you have to adapt.
From head to toe ..
While you are still tanned and summer prolongs that golden glow, a splash of color on your nails and toenails, will remind you of your holiday 😉 I love Guerlain‘s selection of nail polish ; I have carried « Blue Ocean » with me everywhere this summer… the color is so beautiful, the strength and lasting finish is flawless and the application is fairly easy (the brush is very pleasant to use) … I wear this especially on my toenails; it looks really great with a tan…
Dior have a great top coat, “Tie and Dye effect”, which is a fantastic way to customize your nail polish: You can stick to one shade or both, for a tie and dye effect which is really original. You can also play around by using the top coat as a single application. It’s not that easy to apply actually, so a little patience is necessary. Maybe if you are in a hurry, it would be best not to opt for the « Tie and Die » nail polish.I have tried the color « Rose, Sun Down » and the « Soft Rose , Sun Kiss » in the “Tie and Dye” version, but I also really loved the yellow shade « Sun Washed » although it is maybe a tad too « festive » for September…=>The texture of the top coat is very thick, so be careful not to apply too much, or not too many coats. Your best bet is just 1 coat or 2 very light coats, otherwise it can look really over the top. Use a clear polish for the end result.
And to finish, perfume ..
As I am always slightly nostalgic following my holidays, I love to carry around with me my little bottle of “Crème Coco Bounty”perfume by “Pura Bali” .. Guaranteed escapism.
So there you go; that’s the end of this Indian summer make-up bag advice. Please do not hesitate to share your favorites with us.
Enjoy the rest of your holidays, you lucky things!
