Green smoothies are a delicious way to detox, and one of the healthiest drinks to add to your daily routine.

To stay in shape, slim down  and to detox your body, you need to feed it foods that help it purge itself, while at the same time provide it with the vitamins, proteins and minerals it needs to function at its best.

Green smoothie are the perfect way to start the day and make the most of your morning .. You can also use it as a lunch or diner meal replacement or for a light snack.

Easy peasy to make, all you need is a blender or a food processor to mix the ingredients together and there you go !!

How to  do it ?

In the blender, dispose first the juicy ingredients, such as fruits. Pour half a glass of the liquid of your choice  (water, green tea, coconut milk, soy milk or any vegetal milk or cream ). Blend everything together until you reach a smoothie consistency.

In a second time, you will add the firmer ingredients such as leaves that you will blend by rapid pulses (to avoid  the veggies to overheat ). If you use curly kale or any really firm leaf, make sure you cut off the hard and stringy ribs that run down the middle of the leaf. You can also pre cut the leaves, it will be easier to blend.

When detoxing, fresh and organic produce is always recommended. In wintertime, I always have some organic frozen fruits in my freezer such as raspberries, berries, banana .. It is the best way to keep them all year long and it is cheaper .. In spring or during summer time, you can get some fresh fruits easily at local markets. Fruits are perfect to accompany green smoothies and to add a delicious and sweet taste ..

To get you revved up and ready to face the day, load your smoothie with super foods such as soy protein powder, acai berries, chia seed, spiraling powder, chlorella, goji berries …
