Today I wanted to share our gastronomic adventures at La Tour d’Argent, with you. A few weeks ago, we were able to appreciate this mythical place, enveloped in history, during dinner…
Here goes …
Welcome to La Tour d’Argent ..
Mercifully, we had reserved a table, several days in advance, a necessity in order to gain access to this prestigious and appreciated place. On our arrival, after a small tour of the ground floor and hanging up our coats, we were whisked off to the 6th floor , where the restaurant is situated.. I admit I was impressed by this historic place, but the staff were there for our every need and soon put us as ease and made us feel comfortable.

Gastronomie with a view ..
he food at “la Tour d’Argent” is, before anything else, traditional yet refined, with the majority of meals being made with meat and fish. Its speciality actually is the duckling “Tour d’argent”… that being said, vegetarians, gluten free and others are all welcome here, and the head chef, Laurent Delarbre, voted best restaurateur in France, takes pleasure in preparing different meals and sides adapted for each individual and their needs. For us he actually prepared a vegetarian dinner especially. Phew!
After having tasted our apéritif (wild strawberry juice !!), with a fantastic view of Paris ; time for serious business … Dishes and flavours followed one after another, and we grew rapidly more and more stunned upon the arrival of each new plate ! We were treated to no less than four different dishes, fortunately of reasonable sizes, which is what avoids us from getting full after the first dish..
Here are some pictures of the amuse bouche; a mix of crushed vegetables with truffles and here the second dish; cream of potato with shallots in vinegar …
And then the main dish: a selection of season vegetables and a vegetable broth with truffles .. all of this accompanied with piping hot bread rolls and cool butter…
Each meal was a real surprise… The presentation was simply magnificent, the dishes were colourful and appetising, the tastes for the most part were brand new for us… and the conduct and decorum of the waiters was elegant and precise, ballet like. That alone was worth the visit…
Another positive point, the restaurant is extremely attentive with the quality of its products. It has its own vegetable garden and only serves season vegetables… The cheese, meat and fish are picked with care..and they even have there own honeycombs in the roof, which allows them to produce their own honey … 😉
For those with a sweet tooth ..
We had a tiny place left for desert… and what a desert it was.. a Saint Honore in passion fruit, accompanied with a pineapple sorbet … I had never tasted anything as good before..The puff pastry was to die for.. and the sorbet, just delicious.. But it was not over!!! On the arrival of coffee and tea, we were also treated to a little selection of delightful treats..
My opinion of this gastronomic restaurant made in Paris ..
The view, the service, the meal… Everything was simply perfect..
I had heard so much about this place, that I could not wait to discover it for myself… And voila, I was definitely not disappointed!!! I will take this opportunity to thank the head chef and all of the restaurant team, who were simply superb .. We will be returning!!
Do not hesitate to leave a comment or share with us your experience of La Tour d’Argent 😉
